The Journal News recently reported on the Annual Town of Haverstraw reorganization meeting. It seems they were looking for some kind of statement from the Supervisor on the State of the Town. Its traditional and expected, kind of like a ‘second’ after a motion, something they could sink their teeth into. Acting Rotellain, Mr. Phillips chose to break with tradition rather than to commit to words. The Journal News didn’t miss that. I’m also sure they didn’t miss the Cancel appointment. And for my part, I just hope Mike Kohut continues the tradition of independent governance down in the Village. That the one thing the previous government gave him, and that’s the one thing the Village needs.
